DIY Inspiration

My latest botanical interests are leaning heavily towards succulents and ferns. Ferns, in particular, remind me of childhood years spent in Western Washington when camping in the forests of the Cascades transported me to a magical land of make believe.

Upon seeing the fronds of a fern uncurling and stretching out it's green new-ness, I get giddy with those memories and reminisce about the deep earth smells of bark and moss. This DIY idea from the geniuses at DesignSponge is a really beautiful way to preserve something you love, and decorate a lonely wall at the same time! Brilliant!

A Walk in the Park

One of our favorite things to do is to go for an evening stroll. We are lucky enough to live near a wonderful park filled with old trees, owls and squirrely squirrels. Often after dinner, when the summer sun is setting, we meander through the trees and and fill our lungs with the bark-sweet summertime air.

Hope your summer is peaceful and full of the simple things that make life so magical!

A big huge THANK YOU to Misty at Just Because for blogging about our Simple Modern Wood Necklace! It's a real compliment to have a designer like what we do!

walla walla farmers market

What a nice way for people to come together on a glorious weekend! The Walla Walla Farmers Market has grown into a happy, musical event. Here is a view from inside my booth looking out. It is so lovely to meet new friends who've come from far away as well as my local neighbors. Tapping our toes to the live music, we can chat away about their favorite gemstones, produce and anything else we like.

I look forward to a busy week in the studio. I've got oodles of sketches for new designs that are just waiting to be created. Hope you all have a really nice week!
